Minor Observations
The Nationals will be looking for at least two new managers for their minor league system as both Harrisburg manager Scott Little and Hagerstown manager Tom Herr have opted not to return to the organization in 2008. Little expressed frustration with his standing within the organization while Herr believed he was a better fit for managing at the Double-A level (the Nationals did not agree).





For those interested, I will be keeping track of the compensation for Alfonso Soriano in the top right corner. Updates will be made as Type A and B free agents sign.
Tracy Ringolsby of the Rocky Mountain News writes that their will be an apparent labor agreement between the owners and the players completed before the end of the World Series.
While I was on vacation, there were several stories that were released regarding the AAA affiliation status of four teams, the Nationals, Orioles, Yankees, and Mets.

I’m still working on some confirmation regarding the rumors of the Nationals shifting their AAA affiliation from New Orleans to Norfolk.
The long-rumored hiring of former Arizona Diamondbacks Scouting Director Mike Rizzo was completed today when Rizzo was named the Assistant GM and Vice President of Baseball Operations by GM Jim Bowden.
As some of you may have noticed (or not), the Farm Authority Reports were handled by John and Scott for the latter part of last week (thanks guys). The reason? I embarked on a baseball road trip with my buddy, Dave, from Garfield Ridge. We spent Wednesday through Sunday travelling from Milwaukee to Chicago back to Washington DC, catching five games in five days.
